Breathe maintained hospital services throughout the works including 100% availability for theatres during cooling plant replacement. The Trust has improved management information on energy assets, which helps prioritise maintenance resource to support delivery of critical health services work.
This energy performance contract provides the Trust with £1.0m of guaranteed annual energy savings and has dealt with £2.8m of critical backlog works. It has provided long term budget surety for energy, utilities and maintenance costs.
We have enhanced resilience for steam, electricity and portable water supplies to the site, and reduced type 1 and 2 CO² emissions by 39%. In doing so Breathe has supported the Trust in meeting its Carter Report targets.
We have provided improved working environments for the Trust staff, and the energy centre upgrade has led to better local air quality for patients, staff, visitors and residents.
